The U.S. Committee for UNICEF encourages children throughout the nation to learn about the conditions of their peers in developing nations and to help raise funds for those who desperately need our help. Last year's National UNICEF Month campaign brought hope and healing to children in need throughout the developing world in the form of lifesaving immunizations, vital health services, nutrition programs, clean water, curriculum development, and teacher training.

Every year the U.S. Committee for UNICEF develops a teacher's kit of materials promoting an aspect of global awareness. This year's teacher's kit is on the theme INCREASE THE PEACE. It will be available for downloading during September and October from the U.S. Committee for UNICEF's website. Developed with the cooperation of the Children's Television Workshop and containing components for grades 1-9, it emphasizes conflict resolution and contains information about the plight of children in war. The entire kit, including a two-sided full-color poster, as well as our famous orange "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" collection cartons, are also available by calling 1-800-FOR-KIDS. All materials are available in both Spanish and English editions.
