PROJECT - Letters to Santa
PROJECT - Letters to Santa:
    
Objective: Older
and younger students will work cooperatively in using listening and writing
skills, and learning proper procedure for mailing letters.
Resources: Teacher: envelopes, cardboard box, colored paper,
markers. Students: paper and pencil.
Teacher Preparation: Contact a classroom to work with; create a
mailbox using a cardboard box and colored paper and markers.
Procedure:
- Upper grade students
buddy up with primary grade students.
- Younger students
dictate a letter to Santa Claus to the older students.
- Have the older
students copy the letter into finished form, place them in envelopes,
address the envelopes and together, draw two stamps on each envelope
in the proper location.
- Have students mail
their letters.
Variations/Options:
Upper grade students can answer the letters as if they're "Santa".
